Conclusion!
After conducting a business research between McDonald and KFC, we can see that McDonald is the leader in the fast food industry. Many consumers would prefer to choose McDonald compared to KFC. Customers choose McDonald mainly due to the reason that they serve high quality foods at an inexpensive price. McDonald is selling the value set meals at three periods per day, which is during morning (breakfast), afternoon (lunch), and night (dinner). This is a good business idea for McDonald to sell and target more customer segments of different races or ages. McDonald set meals are sold at affordable prices and they provide different varieties of burgers such as chicken and beef. Furthermore, McDonald serves many types of meals, burgers, and ice cream to the public. Hence, this gives the customers the feeling of having a variety of choices to choose from for their meal. Not only that, many people would prefer to buy the ice cream from McDonald rather than KFC. What causes this happen? Through observations, people tend to buy ice creams from McDonald because McDonald in Jusco has a separate counter which only sells the ice creams. Due to this reason, people feel that it is more convenient and they can purchase an ice cream without a long queue at the main counter. All of these reasons are factors on how McDonald became the leader of the fast food industry in the whole world.

Pie Chart of Observations
This pie chart is based on the number of customers (Malay 58, Chinese 45, Indian 25) in different races. Malay customers are the most and the Indian customers are the least.
This pie chart is based on the number of customers (Malay 25, Chinese 20, Indian 12) in different races. Malay customers are the most and the Indian customers are the least.
This pie chart is based on the quantity of the meal (McChicken 32, Spicy Chicken McDelux 40, Flet-O-Fish 28, Other Meals 25) that ordered by the customers. The Spicy Chicken McDelux is the best selling meal.
This pie chart is based on the quantity of the meal (Fried Chicken 48, KFC Burger 6, Other Meals 3) that ordered by the customers. The Fried Chicken is the best selling meal.
This pie chart is showing the total percentage of customer in McDonald is higher than KFC. The total number of customers in McDonald is 128 people and KFC is 57 people.
This pie chart is showing the total percentage of meals ordered by the customers in McDonald is higher than KFC. The total number of meals ordered by customers in McDonald is 125 sets and KFC is 57 sets.

Observations (Lunch)
Now, I would like to tell you what did i observe during lunch time. The 5 sessions of observations (30 minutes each) for McDonald and KFC will be taken in this section.
- Many customers are sitting in McDonald to enjoy their lunch time around 12.30 pm- 3.30 pm.
- They are not office workers. All of them are wearing normal t-shirt and casual attire in McDonald and KFC.
- Compare to McDonald, KFC has lesser customers at the same time.
- Even though some of the customers are not buying the set meal in McDonald, but there are still have a long queue for buying the McDonald ice-cream. In every 30 minutes, an average of 10 people will buy the ice cream in McDonald.
- In KFC, there have no customer will just order the desserts. Normally the customers will order the set or combo meal.
- In McDonald, 3 to 5 customers will order the Ayam Goreng McD in every 30 minutes at the lunch time.
- Besides that, the ice-creams such as Sundae Cone, ChocoTop, and Oreo McFlurry are the top selling desserts in McDonald.
- 50% of the customers in McDonald would like to buy an ice-cream as their dessert after finished the meal.
- The customers of KFC will not order any desserts once they have finished their meal.
- Furthermore, the customers in McDonald will also sit in the restaurant and chat with their friends or family after they finished eating. KFC's customers are different. They will choose to leave the restaurant once they have finished eating.

Observations (Dinner)
In this post, it would like to tell you about the observations of KFC and McDonald during dinner period. The 5 sessions of observations (30 minutes each) for McDonald and KFC will be taken in this section.
- The dinner duration has started to observe from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
- There are many people lining up in front of the counter of McDonald and waiting for their turn to make an order (start from 6.00 pm).
- The people are crowded in McDonald during dinner time. In the first 30 minutes (6.00 pm-6.30 pm), there was around 20 people started to wait for ordering their meal.
- There are different race of customers such as Malay, Chinese, and Indian. The number of Malay customers during the whole dinner session is 58, Chinese is 45, and Indian is 25.
- Besides that, some of the customers would like to take away the meal and some would like to take their meal in the restaurant.
- The environment of McDonald is lively because there are lot of people choose to enjoy their meal in McDonald.
- When looking at the picture, some people are enjoying the meal with their family after shopping in Jusco.
- Furthermore, many parents would like to bring their children to McDonald and order the "Happy Meal" for their children at the same time. In the 3 hours observation, there are an average of 2 sets of Happy Meal will be sold in every 30 minutes.
- The hot sells in McDonald during dinner are McChicken, Spicy Chicken McDelux, and Filet-o-Fish. The amount of McChicken that has been ordered by the customers is 32 sets, Spicy Chicken McDelux is 40 sets, Filet-o-Fish is 28 sets, and other meals is 25. ( approximate estimated)
- On the other hand, KFC is not having so many customer at the same time.
- There are average not more than 10 people making order within every 30 minutes.
- The staffs in KFC are not efficient, because they won't clean the rubbish in a short period.
- Most of the customers in KFC are Malay. Malay is 25 people, Chinese is 20 people, and Indian is 12 people.
- People would like to buy set meal such as snack plate and dinner plate. There are around 48 people of customers are eating fried chicken especially spicy chicken in KFC, 6 people are ordering burger, and 3 people are buying other meals in McDonald. (approximate estimated)

First, thanks you for viewing my blog. This blog is going to tell you about the popularity of McDonald causes itself to become the leader of fast foods in worldwide. McDonald's headquartered is United State, this company began in year 1994 operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald. In year 1955, Ray Kroc founded the McDonald's Corporation and opened the first restaurant in Des Plaines, IIlinois. Today, McDonald is the largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants in the world and they are having more than 33,000 franchises in 119 countries.
In Malaysia, there are a lot of fast food restaurants are similar to McDonald such as Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Although KFC's main product is fried chicken, at the same time, it is also selling several types of delicious hamburger. Unfortunately, it is unable to win McDonald no matter in popularity, sales and others. Now, let me do a research and the purpose of this research is identify why McDonald is so success while compare to KFC and what cause the people chosen McDonald rather than KFC.
To complete this research, i would like to choose the McDonald and KFC which are located in AEON(JUSCO), Wangsa Maju to do some comparisons.
