Observations (Lunch)

Now, I would like to tell you what did i observe during lunch time. The 5 sessions of observations (30 minutes each) for McDonald and KFC will be taken in this section.











  • Many customers are sitting in McDonald to enjoy their lunch time around 12.30 pm- 3.30 pm.
  • They are not office workers. All of them are wearing normal t-shirt and casual attire in McDonald and KFC.
  • Compare to McDonald, KFC has lesser customers at the same time.
  • Even though some of the customers are not buying the set meal in McDonald, but there are still have a long queue for buying the McDonald ice-cream. In every 30 minutes, an average of 10 people will buy the ice cream in McDonald. 
  • In KFC, there have no customer will just order the desserts. Normally the customers will order the set or combo meal.
  • In McDonald, 3 to 5 customers will order the Ayam Goreng McD in every 30 minutes at the lunch time. 
  • Besides that, the ice-creams such as Sundae Cone, ChocoTop, and Oreo McFlurry are the top selling   desserts in McDonald.
  • 50% of the customers in McDonald would like to buy an ice-cream as their dessert after finished the meal.
  • The customers of KFC will not order any desserts once they have finished their meal.
  • Furthermore, the customers in McDonald will also sit in the restaurant and chat with their friends or family  after they finished eating. KFC's customers are different. They will choose to leave the restaurant once they have finished eating.
